Organise a collection

Organising a collection is a fantastic way to raise awareness of the Muscular Dystrophy UK within your local community, while raising vital funds to support our work.

There are lots of different options when organising a collection, here are a few ideas:

Get in touch with your local supermarket: Please ensure you contact the shop manager first and ask for permission – we will provide you with a letter of authority to support this.

Ask local businesses to put collection tins by their tills: Make sure you note down which shops have them and revisit after six weeks to collect and replace their tins.

Organise a street collection: Get in touch with your local council to find out the regulations regarding street collections.

Before, during and after your collection your Regional Fundraising Manager will give you all the support and resources you need.

Once you receive permission for your collection we’ll provide you with collection tins, buckets and t-shirts; all you need to do is recruit some willing volunteers!
